HIRO Pilgrims Slots Analysis 2025

According to research conducted and reports gathered, Nigeria's Muslim population is approximately 53.5% of the total population. Regarding the Hajj pilgrimage

-Total Nigerian Pilgrims in 2023: 95,000 pilgrims performed Hajj, filling the country's allocated quota for the first time in nearly a decade.

- Total Nigerian Pilgrims in 2024: The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) successfully transported 50,865 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage.

However, another source mentions that over 1.5 million Nigerian Muslims were preparing for the pilgrimage, which seems to be an error, as the actual number of pilgrims who went on Hajj is much lower.

- Gap between Quota and Actual Pilgrims: In 2024, Nigeria's quota wasn't fully utilized according to the NAHCON numbers provided, but the 95,000 quota utilization in 2023 shows potential for full participation when circumstances allow.

It's worth noting that the Saudi government assigns Hajj pilgrimage slots based on the country's Muslim population, with Nigeria allocated 95,000 slots.
